Turmeric is a special spice that takes the look of a ginger, it has a bright yellow-orange colour. Turmeric has a very active chemical called curcumin  and that is what gives it that bright yellow-orange color. The uses and benefits of turmeric cannot be over emphasized. we come across this special spice all the time during our food item purchases but due to the fact that we are not aware of it uses and benefits,we tend to over look it. 

Uses

  • Food Colouring: Do you know that turmeric is one of the active ingredients in curry power? Turmeric can be use to cook those delicious rice you prepare in the kitchen. Just a little turmeric powder will give that your fried rice the nice bright colour you desire.

  • Brain booster: Do you also know that boiling and drinking turmeric as tea helps sharpen your brain?, All you need to do is just boil turmeric with water, allow it cool down a bit then add little sugar and milk to enhance its taste because it has a slight bitter taste  or you might decide to drink it like that.

  • Turmerics are used to produce most skin care products. it can help enhance the look of your skin, its powder can be mixed with water to form a smooth paste which can be applied to the face for smooth and bright look.
       
        Note: the applied paste should be washed off in 20 to 30 mins.
